About Morgan

I assume the people who read my blog are my friends and family, but in case you aren't one of those, here's a little about me:

My name is Morgan Lee Stoner. I'm a 25-year-old Returned Peace Corps Volunteer currently residing in Pretoria, South Africa! After finishing my time as a Community HIV Outreach worker in rural Mpumalanga, I decided I wasn't ready to leave South Africa. I found a gig as a Teacher's Assistant at an orphanage in Pretoria and I've been here ever since.

I graduated from the University of Miami (Fla.) in 2013 with a B.S. in Communications.

I'm originally from St. Louis, Missouri but I spent the 4.5 years before PC in Miami (my driver's license may say I'm from Florida, but I'm a midwesterner through and through).

I'm a vegetarian; I've seen every episode of Modern Family at least three times; I love dogs, hate mosquitoes; and I believe that together we can change the world.

Disclaimer: The contents of this website are mine personally and do not reflect any position of the U.S. government or the Peace Corps.

  1. I love your blogs. I've always wanted to join the PC, but recently got cold feet. After reading most of your blogs in about 3 days, I'm feeling that same old desire to give it a chance :)

    1. I'm glad you like my blog! You should definitely reconsider! Talk to as many volunteers as you can to get a better picture of Peace Corps - that should help.
